“For magnificence, for variety of form and colour, for
profusion of brilliant life – plant, bird, insect, reptile,
beast – Uganda is truly The Pearl of Africa” (Winston
S. Churchill 1908)
Uganda
is situated in the heart of Africa astride the equator, it
is a land where tropical forest meets roaring savannah, where
lakes meet snow capped mountains, and where the mighty Nile,
the longest river in the world starts its 4000 mile journey
from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea. Uganda not only
has a rich tourism history but was also one of the very first
popular destinations on the continent of Africa. In spite
of the past civil wars Uganda has lost none of its allure
and magic, the people’s warm hospitality, modesty and
friendliness is still of old. Uganda is blessed with a diversity
of primates, birds, culture, traditions and scenic landscapes
making her one of the leading destinations in African Tourism. |
